Gain Your First Diving Experiences
Welcome to the underwater world! Have you always wondered what it’s like to be able to breathe underwater? If you want to try diving but are not ready for a full course that ends with a certification (i.e., a diving license), Discover Scuba Diving (often referred to as a “trial dive”) is perfect for you. We help you gain your first diving experiences.
- Big Blue Diving Mallorca offers this programme from the beach or from a boat.
- For children aged 8 to 9 years, we offer the age-appropriate Bubblemaker programme.
Taster dive
Beach: Short theoretical introduction, practical training in shallow water and a final dive from the beach, maximum depth: 6 metres
Boat: Short theoretical introduction, 2 dives including practical training in the 1st dive, the absolute XL programme, maximum depth: 12 metres
Bubblemaker: Simple theoretical introduction, light training in shallow water and a final dive from the beach, maximum depth: 2 metres

Discover Scuba Diving from the beach
Have you always wanted to have your first experience as a diver without having to take a full course? Then you’ve come to the right place!
You will learn to breathe and move weightlessly under water. Experience the underwater world in its purest form.
Have you always wondered what it’s like to be able to breathe underwater? If you’d like to try scuba diving but aren’t ready for a full course that concludes with a “brevet” (i.e. a diver’s licence), Discover Scuba Diving (which is often referred to as “introductory diving”) is for you.
Big Blue Diving Mallorca also offers this programme from the beach. Discover Scuba Diving is not a diving course with a “brevet”, but a quick and easy introduction, where you dive a little into the underwater world with a scuba.
To get started, you need a scuba diver.
To enrol in this Discover Scuba Diving programme, you must be at least 10 years old. You don’t need any previous scuba diving experience, but you do need to be in good health.
Approximately 1 hour of the programme is preparation, the remaining hour is spent in the water.
Discover Scuba Diving from the boat
Big Blue Diving also offers the Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) programme in an XL version from a boat.
This programme is the maximum that non-certified divers can undertake. It is not a diving course that ends in certification.
Similar to the programme from the beach, participants first receive a theoretical introduction.
Then, it’s off to sea by boat for 2 dives. The first dive takes place in shallow water, allowing you to familiarise yourself with the diving equipment and perform initial exercises.
The second dive can go to a maximum depth of 12 metres.
To enrol in a Discover Scuba Diving programme from a boat, you must be at least 12 years old. You do not need any prior diving experience, but you must be in good health and able to swim!
The programme lasts approximately 4 hours in total.
Bubblemaker
The “Bubblemaker” is designed for ages 8-9 and promises a lot of fun. Children learn to dive to a depth of 2 metres using diving equipment in a playful manner under extremely safe conditions. Naturally, they are accompanied at all times by experienced diving instructors.
The “Bubblemaker” course is designed as a playful and enjoyable experience for the youngest family members from the age of 8. In a fun way, children learn to dive to a depth of 2 metres with diving equipment under extremely safe conditions, gaining their first diving experiences. Naturally, they are accompanied at all times by experienced PADI diving instructors. For children aged 10 and over, the Discover Scuba Diving programme or an introductory diving course is recommended.
