Discover Scuba Diving from the beach 69 €

Have you always wondered what it’s like to breathe underwater? If you want to try scuba diving, but aren’t quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is for you. Big Blue Diving Mallorca offers this program also from the beach. While not a scuba certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. To sign up for these Discover Scuba Diving experience, you must be at least 10 years old. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but you need to be in reasonable physical health. Are you ready to try it out?

Requirements:

  • Minimum age: 10 years
  • Maximum depth: 6 meters (from the beach)
  • Dive site: confined open water and open water
  • Duration: about 2 hours in total (from the beach)

Discover Scuba Diving from the boat 129 €

Big Blue Diving also offers the Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) as an XL version from the boat.

This program is the maximum that can be done by non-certified divers.

This program also is not a diving course that ends in a certification.

Like the program from the beach, the participant first receives a theoretical introduction. After that it goes by boat out to the sea for 2 dives. The first dive takes place in shallow water, so that you can familiarize yourself with the diving equipment and perform the first exercises. The second dive can be done up to a maximum depth of 12 meters.

To sign up for a Discover Scuba Diving Program from the boat, you must be at least 12 years old. You do not need any previous experience in diving, but you have to be in good health and should be able to swim.

Requirements:

  • Minimum age: 12 years
  • Maximum depth: 12 meters
  • Dive site: Limited open water / open water
  • Duration: about 4 hours

The next level: Scuba Diver Course or Open Water Diver Course (DSD is counted)

Bubblemaker 69 €

Bubblemaker is as fun as it sounds – a chance for Kids to get their first experience in diving and to blow bubbles by it. Children who are at least 8 years old can use scuba gear to breathe underwater and swim around in shallow water.

A child must be 8 years old or older. Kids must be comfortable in the water, but no prior experience is necessary. Parental approval is required.

For children older than 10 years, the Discover Scuba Diving program or already a beginner diving course is recommended.

This program provides candidates with the knowledge, concepts and training necessary to organize and conduct the Assistant Instructor/Dive Control Specialist training program. Candidates will learn how to evaluate and provide feedback to dive professional candidates in a variety of in-water and academic settings. Candidates who complete this program earn the SSI Assistant Instructor Trainer/Dive Control Specialist Instructor certification.

You have three options: Take Dive Guide, Science of Diving and Dive Control Specialist single or all as one program or enter the program as a Divemaster from any approved agency. As a Dive Control Specialist you can lead and guide certified divers; assist SSI Instructors in the classroom, pool and open water; teach skills in the classroom and pool under the indirect supervision of an SSI Instructor (except the emergency skills); teach the SSI Scuba Skills Update program, the SSI Snorkeling program, and the SSI Try Scuba program (pool/confined water only).

The enriched air course gives the opportunity to the student to learn how to use this mixed air safely.

During the course the student learns the advantages and disadvantages of diving with enriched air; how to avoid problems, and what to do in case that something goes wrong. Also will learn and try techniques like analyse the mix, oxygen exposure control and advance RDP planning.

The course doesn´t contains any dives !

The course takes about half day. Before getting the license, the student has to pass a final test. To join this course you need to have the Open Water Diver license or the similar level from other diving organizations and you must be 12 years old for the Nitrox .

Who should take this course?
Whether purpose-sunk as an artificial reef for scuba divers, or lost as the result of an accident, wrecks are fascinating windows to the past. Ships, airplanes and even cars are fascinating to explore and usually teem with aquatic life. Each wreck dive offers a chance for discovery, potentially unlocking a mystery or spying something others have missed. The PADI Wreck Diver Specialty course is popular because it offers rewarding adventures while observing responsible wreck diving practices.

If you’re at least 15 years old and have earned a PADI Adventure Diver certification or higher, you can enroll in the Wreck Diver Specialty course.

What will you learn?
There are many different types of wrecks, some of which are protected by laws that guard their historical and cultural significance. Your training starts by reviewing guidelines for researching and respecting wrecks. During four dives you’ll learn:

  • Safety considerations for navigating and exploring wrecks.

It happens: People accidentally drop things from docks, off boats or even while scuba diving. If you’ve ever lost something in the water and wanted to go find it, then the PADI Search and Recovery Diver Specialty course is for you. There are effective ways to search for objects underwater that increase your chances of success. And there are good and better methods to bring up small, large or just awkward items. Search and recovery can be challenging, but a whole lot of fun.

PADI (Junior) Advanced Open Water Divers who are at least 12 years old can enroll in the Search and Recover Diver course. PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers with a PADI Underwater Navigator certification also qualify.

What will you learn?
Gathering information and resources, then carefully planning a search are the first important steps you learn. During four scuba dives you’ll practice:

What will you learn?
You’ll learn the tools of the trade, including navigation using natural clues and by following compass headings. During three scuba dives, you’ll practice:

  • Methods to estimate distance underwater.
  • Compass navigation while making at least five turns.
  • Marking or relocating a submerged object or position from the surface.
  • Underwater map making.

Who should take this course?
Excellent buoyancy control is what defines skilled scuba divers. You’ve seen them underwater. They glide effortlessly, use less air and ascend, descend or hover almost as if by thought. They more easily observe aquatic life without disturbing their surroundings. You can achieve this, too. The PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty course improves the buoyancy skills you learned as a new diver and elevates them to the next level.

PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers or higher, who are at least 10 years old, are eligible to take the Peak Performance Buoyancy course.

What will you learn?
During two scuba dives, you’ll learn how to:

  • Determine the exact weight you need, so you’re not too light or too heavy.

What will you learn?
You’ll learn about routine care and maintenance procedures as well as scuba equipment storage recommendations. Specialty "Digital Unterwater Photography - DUP"159 €

Who should take this course?
Underwater photography is one of the most popular diving specialties, and with so many underwater cameras to choose from, it has become easier and more fun than ever to capture images of your underwater scuba adventures. The PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course gets you going quickly, whether you use a point-and-shoot camera or a sophisticated dSLR like the pros.

PADI (Junior) Open Water Divers who are at least 10 years old are eligible to take the Digital Underwater Photographer course.

Because underwater photography is also popular with snorkelers, there is an option for avid snorkelers and skin divers to complete the course.

What will you learn?
Through hands-on training during two scuba dives and guidance from your PADI Professional, you’ll discover:

  • How to choose the right underwater camera system for you.
  • The PADI SEA (Shoot, Examine, Adjust) method for getting great shots quickly.

The beginning of your adventure as a professional diver is the training with the PADI Divemaster program. Working closely with a PADI Instructor this program expands your dive knowledge and brings your skills to the professional level.

The PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist the instructors work with student divers.

Diving - Travel - working with other people, it offers you something that inspires!
You can begin your Divemaster program  immediately after the Rescue Course.

During the PADI Divemaster program, you will learn leadership skills, the theory is done in the classroom, and through self-study. You complete water skills, stamina exercises and training tasks that support your organizational skills and your ability to solve problems. You put this knowledge into practice, through a series of training tasks.

For the PADI Divemaster course you will need at least a few weeks at Big Blue Diving.

Following your training at Big Blue Diving is possible to be part of our team as a Divemaster for the summer season !

In the course price of 699,-€ the PADI teaching materials are not yet taking into account.

PADI Freediving Courses

The Basic Freediver course is a subset of the Freediver course. It’s a great first step for developing solid freediving skills. You learn basic freediving principles and focus on practicing breathhold techniques in a pool or confined water site.

To enroll in a Basic Freediver course you must be 12 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with snorkeling, skin diving or freediving is required.

The Basic Freediver course consists of two main phases:

  • Knowledge development through independent study with the theory.
  • Confined water session to learn breathhold techniques as well as static and dynamic apnea, plus proper buddy procedures. Goal – static apnea of 90 seconds and dynamic apnea of 25 metres/80 feet.

Whether a complete beginner or an informally trained freediver/spearfisherman with years of experience, this course will set you on the right path to eliminate bad habits and show you the most efficient and safe freedive techniques.

During this course students master the fundamentals of the freediving education system in an easy-to-learn course format operating between the classroom, pool and open water setting. With a high emphasis on safety and comfort, students master the proper skills to effectively operate up to depths of 16 meters.
